Stephen B. Farrow

Stephen B. Farrow has served the citizens of northwest Georgia as both a practicing attorney and a lawmaker.  Mr. Farrow is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Tennessee.  He graduated magna cum laude in 1979.  Among the honors he attained at college were memberships in Mortar Board and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies.  He was also the top recipient of the Wenderoth National Scholarship.

He earned his J.D. degree in 1982 from the University of Georgia and was accepted by the Georgia Bar the same year.  While a law student, Mr. Farrow participated in the Prosecutorial clinic, served as a representative to the Student Bar Association and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity.

Following law school, he returned to his hometown of Dalton and associated with the firm of Little & Adams until 1985 when he joined Minor, Bell & Neal.  He became a partner in 1987.

Mr. Farrow is a member of the Conasauga Bar Association and has served on the Advisory Committee on Legislation on the State Bar Association.  In addition, he is a member of the Georgia Defense Attorneys Association, the Defense Research Institute, and has served on the Federal Northern District Advisory Board.

Mr. Farrow represented northwest Georgia in the Georgia State Senate from 1995-1998, and is a graduate of both Leadership Dalton/Whitfield and Leadership Georgia.  He recently served on the executive board of the Dalton-Whitfield Chamber of Commerce and on the board of directors of the Dalton Rotary Club.  He is a past member of the State Civil War Commission and has also served as the chairman of the State Ethics Commission.  In addition, he is a member of the Boards of both the Dalton Education Foundation and the Dalton State College Foundation.

He served Fort Oglethorpe as city attorney from 1994-2001, was the Murray County attorney from 1993-1998, and served as the attorney for the Town of Resaca in 2002.  Mr. Farrow concentrates his practice in the areas of medical malpractice defense, civil litigation, workers’ compensation defense and domestic relations.

Mr. Farrow and his wife, Carol, are the parents of a son, Hardy, and a daughter, Fleming.  The Farrows are members of the First United Methodist Church of Dalton.  Mr. Farrow counts among his hobbies politics, sports, theatre, and reading.
